New Community Contributions

In addition to its continued efforts to provide a positive direct benefit to the community of the BVI, Nanny Cay will undertake the following community projects:

HLSCC Nanny Cay Marine Hub

Nanny Cay has been committed to partnering with the Government to help develop the BVI as a world class yachting destination with a first-class marine sector. In this regard, it has worked closely with Government and HLSCC for over a decade to facilitate the development of marine technical training which has resulted in a financial investment (covering cash, services and personnel) of around $50,000 annually for the last five years.

Going Forward

Nanny Cay will construct a ‘HLSCC Nanny Cay Marine Hub’ centre at Nanny Cay and contribute US$50,000 per year for five years, commencing upon the opening of the new marina, in support of its operation.

In collaboration with HLSCC, and under the auspices of the Office of the Premier, the Marine Hub will be used as a sailing and marine skills training centre, to
conduct swimming and water skills certification and environmental awareness education and training, and to offer youth sailing with the Royal BVI Yacht Club.

The intent is to also offer after-school courses in sailing and marine skills training at an introductory level to children of all three District Three Primary Schools and
to run Summer School Courses, to be extended to the children of the wider BVI community.

Royal BVI Yacht Club Youth Programme

Nanny Cay will provide a slipway and dry storage facilities for the RBVIYC’s fleet of dinghies used for the youth sailing programmes.
